Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a bilateral agreement with his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao, pledging to further boost Russian-Chinese cooperation and strategic partnership.
The meeting in Beijing was crowned by signing a slew of vital documents to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.
Among others, the leaders initiated an agreement, dating back to December 18, 1992, to jointly construct a nuclear power plant in China.
Putin confirms 'highly confident' Russia-China relations
A level of confidence in the Moscow-Beijing strategic relations remains high, Russia`s President Vladimir Putin said during a press-briefing after the talks with his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao in Beijing on Tuesday.
The Russian leader said that the two countries have provided each other assistance on key issues related to their national interests.
Mr. Putin added that Moscow and Beijing have been working together to help the world cope with the present-day challenges such as terrorism, extremism, the distribution of weapons of mass destruction and large-scale economic crisis.
Level of Russia-China cooperation 'unprecedentedly high' - Putin
The quality of the Russian-Chinese cooperation has advanced to an unprecedentedly high level, Russia`s President Vladimir Putin said during the talks with his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao in Beijing.
“Moscow and Beijing see eye to eye on many issues both in terms of international policy and economic partnership”, Mr. Putin said and confirmed his country`s intention to keep the relations with China going in the same way.
Hu Jintao, for his part, said that Mr. Putin`s visit would contribute to a further development of the strategic cooperation between the two countries.
